Alana Hutt, Founder of Oxford Tutoria
Born and educated in Oxford, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for high-quality education. With over eight years of teaching experience in both London and Madrid, I founded Oxford Tutoria to offer personalised, one-to-one tutoring grounded in proven, research-based methods.
I hold a PGDE from University College London, a BA (Hons) in Education from Newcastle University, and a TEFL qualification. Throughout my career, I’ve taught across EYFS, KS1, KS2, and KS3 in some of Europe’s most prestigious schools, gaining a breadth of experience across curricula and age groups.
I founded Oxford Tutoria to follow my passion for personalised education—delivering bespoke learning experiences and preparing students for competitive exams, including the 11+ and Cambridge English assessments. I believe that every learner deserves an approach tailored to their unique needs, and I’m committed to ensuring that each student receives the attention, support, and challenge they need to thrive.

Alana, as Coney's English teacher, provided great help to Coney. She will assess Coney's English level before the start of the course, and based on this, communicate with parents to develop stage learning goals and plans. Being able to develop learning plans based on child's preferences during the teaching process, incorporating their favorite Pokémon characters into the curriculum, effectively enhances child's interest in learning. The child's writing skills have greatly improved based on their interest.
During Coney's preparation for the KET exam, Alana provided comprehensive and targeted review in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, repeatedly focusing on weak areas. With Alana's help, Coney passed the KET exam smoothly after only two weeks of intensive training. It should be noted that he had never taken a similar exam before!
Athena
María started with some learning difficulties in Year 1 and was unable to keep up with her classmates. We tried at home to help her, but our methods were not effective. She was unable to understand the meaning of the main mathematical concepts and had problems with English writing.
She first started to receive extra lessons in Maths with Alana and in just a few weeks María managed to clearly understand the most basic concepts and from there she grew with continuous support from Alana.
